WHA’ HAPPENED?
Why are you closing?
Well, we need investment to continue to deliver epic boxes of kids clothes. Given that we are subscription based, our revenue comes in over time yet we need to get a wide range of stock up front. This cash gap got bigger and bigger as we grew so quickly and to keep growing we need to cover it with outside capital. We are closing while we explore how to get this investment rather than battle on and risk our customers having a bad experience.
I’m an existing customer, what happens to my subscription?
You should have received an email and a text from us explaining the situation. If you didn’t, sorry about that! Here are the details again:
No more boxes are going out - your most recent box will be your last.
Subscriptions will be automatically cancelled exactly 3 months from your last box.
Why do you keep charging me?
Each box contains 3 months of clothes and each box is not actually fully paid for until 3 months of subscription payments are received. We are accepting of the fact that some customers cancel before the three months are up - for example sometimes there are family tragedies and associated financial pressures and we are not ogres. But we do need to pay our team in this tough time and we will lose money on customers that quit before 3 months.

I’m mad / sad / glad, who can I talk to?
Please, seriously, if you have any questions email us on hello@stitchfox.com or tappidy tap the green help button on the bottom right of the screen.
Will you be back?
That’s the plan, Stan.
From our blog piece about this:
The machinery of Venture Capital in New Zealand is not well defined nor overflowing with opportunity for fashion tech startups. We are going to pitch until we can pitch no more and hope we can get something sorted in six months.
Are you guys OK?
We are sad but hopeful. What a ride so far!
Being grateful
We are very grateful to the customers who have got involved and shown us so much love; to suppliers that have helped us out so, so much; and to our significant others who have put up with us never seeing them and done a lot of the parental heavy lifting over the last two years. Love, love, love.
